Cosmetic gums are among the first components that new formulators encounter. They are mostly used in the production of gels and in the thickening of other cosmetic formulations, such as emulsions. GUAR GUM

Guar gum improves the consistency of goods by acting as a natural thickening and emulsifier. Guar gum, a polysaccharide (like starch or cellulose) that is frequently used in hair care, is made from guar beans that are cultivated all over the world, from the US to India to Australia. It functions as a surfactant-enhancing lather in soap, and its thickening capabilities in products like shaving cream help to generate the luxurious foam that makes razors glide over skin. Additionally, it functions as a preservative in goods and has some conditioning qualities.

 

XANTHAN GUM

It functions as an emulsifier and thickening to aid in the creation of stable emulsions of oil and water. Natural xanthan gum is made from sugar made from wheat, corn, or soy. ACACIA GUM

SCLEROTIUM GUM

It also has a high heat stability. Sclerotium is stable in a wide variety of temperatures, salt concentrations, and pH values and will gel at a concentration of 0.8 percent. Additionally, it is compatible with high concentrations of ethanol (up to 20 percent) and glycols (up to 25 percent ).

 

Particles distributed in a sclerotium gum gel will remain suspended without settling because sclerotium gum is a great option as a suspending agent. When compounding with alpha-hydroxy acids, sclerotium gum is a fantastic option.
